The aim of SCOPE is to promote cultural understanding and co-operation amongst medical students and all health professionals, through the facilitation of international student exchanges. SCOPE aims to give all students the opportunity to learn about global health, and attains this partly by having its exchanges accredited by medical faculties across the world.
How does SCOPE works
All medical students are entitled to participate in a four-week clerkship in a chosen clinical or pre-clinical field of medicine. The language of instruction is either English or the language of the host country. In order to complete the clerkship, the exchange student must show adequate knowledge of the English language or the native language of the host country. Clerkships are purely educational and students will not receive a salary. During the exchange, the student has the chance to observe a different health care system and learn from foreign tutors. All students are assigned to a physician supervisor, who acts as a tutor and mentor.
How to apply for exchange in MSANC
This year for the very first time, MSANC will be able to participate in exchange program.
MSANC organises an exam which contains both English and Medical questions. The English questions are there to assess the student on their fluency and proficiency in English language as mentioned above, its crucial to know. On the other hand, the medicine questions are there to assess the general knowledge of students in medicine. The exam topics can be changed according to what is seen fit by the NEO.
To apply for the exchange exam, first you have to fill out an application form which contains important details about exchange exam. The application form will also contain a link to our SCOPE Booklet which is the official guide for exchange. It contains all details you need to know from A to Z. The Exchange Booklet will be shared and saved in the resources section on our website. Its important to know that the SCOPE Booklet will be changing each year as we might do exchanges with new countries. Furthermore, fees for the exchange exam and terms & conditions may be further adjusted.
