Vaccines: Production, Challenges & Nationalism
Nine vaccines against covid-19 have already been approved in one jurisdiction or another, with many more in various stages of preparation. This happened within a year of the illness coming to the world’s attention which is remarkable! But it is one thing to design and test vaccines, and another to make them at sufficient scale to generate the billions of doses needed to vaccinate the world’s population. To do so at such speed that the rate of inoculation can outpace the spread and possible mutation of the virus.
Join us in this interesting webinar, moderated by our National Officer on Human Rights and Peace, Amin Alasfar, and our honourable guests Prof. Dr. Kaya Süer, Assist. Prof. Dr. Gülpiye Abdulşükür and Dr. Khaled Haddad, who are specialised in their respective fields.

Talking about Volunteers
We all constantly see many activities with volunteers on our social media or posters around us. We also want to participate in these studies, but we are not sure how we can start and what we can do!
In this context, we will meet with Bilim Kahramanları Derneği Project Coordinator, Aylin Yıldırım, who has been working with the support of thousands of volunteers for many years, and we will talk about what we are curious about volunteering and the studies of the Association. You are all invited to our talk about volunteering.

So knowing about problems is going to be a way for solution.

Migration and Right to Health
As the WHRD approaches and in a world where 79.5 million people have been forcibly displaced by the end of 2019, hosting an open space for members to share perspectives, build up opinions and come up with ideas is of great importance. This open space comes as part of an interregional collaboration between the European and the Eastern Mediterranean Region for the WHRD.
Each year the World Human Rights Day is celebrated all over the world on the 10th of December. This day was initially established in 1948 when the UDHR was first adopted. The United Nations calls upon all nations and people to commemorate the day through education and public awareness. And as this year’s theme focuses on Human Rights in the centre of the COVID-19 response and recovery, discussing the right to health for migrants and refugees of both regions is of huge importance.
This open space aims to get members from both regions to discuss the right to health for migrants and refugees coming from different regional and national perspectives with a goal of coming up with actual solutions on how to overcome the crisis and ensure respect of the International Humanitarian Law in order to preserve migrants’ and refugees’ rights.
This open space will take place on the 6th of November at 15:00 GMT on Google Meet.
The discussion will have as special guests: Mariona Borrell (Regional Director for Europe), Amin Alasfar (NORP of MSANC Northern Cyprus), Maha Rehman (SCORP Director) and Mahmood Al-Hamoody (The Liaison Officer for Human Rights and Peace) and will be moderated by Diana Model and Abdulrahman Zeyad, the SWG members from Europe and EMR.
We highly encourage all our students to join this Open Space and t show support to our National Officer as MSANC first official speaker in IFMSA SCORP Event.

Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in the prostate — a small walnut-shaped gland in men that produces the seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperm.
Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in men. Usually prostate cancer grows slowly and is initially confined to the prostate gland, where it may not cause serious harm. However, while some types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may need minimal or even no treatment, other types are aggressive and can spread quickly.
Prostate cancer that’s detected early, when it’s still confined to the prostate gland, has a better chance of successful treatment.
Prostate cancer may cause no signs or symptoms in its early stages. Prostate cancer that’s more advanced may cause signs and symptoms such as: trouble urinating, decreased force in the stream of urine, blood in semen, discomfort in the pelvic area, bone pain, erectile dysfunction.
You can reduce your risk of prostate cancer if you: Choose a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables, Choose healthy foods over supplements, Exercise most days of the week, Maintain a healthy weight.
